Why do people get restless leg syndrome and how to get rid of it. i can,t sleep. thanks.?

Answer:
From what I have learned, it's usually from iron deficiency. You need to talk to your family doctor first to confirm this. Your doctor will run some blood tests (most probably just one blood test) to see if you lack iron and then your doctor will inform you if you are lacking of iron. He/she will most likely prescribe or request that you take iron pills. If you are on medications, they also have side effects, so you'll have to check if such side effects are applicable to your medications that are affecting your restlesness; that is, if only you are on medications.
How do you know it is restless leg syndrome. You need to get it diagnosed by a doctor. There is medication for that.
It is a treatable medical condition and you can get relief from it. See your doctor. Sorry, I don't have an answer as to why it occurs but it is sometimes seen with other sleep disorders.
A few people in my family have been diagnosed with it. I also believe I have the problem. As far as I know there is no sure shot medication for this, but the Doctors have recommended that before we sleep to stretch real good, little or no caffeine a few hours before bed, and maybe even a nice warm shower or bath to help. The warm bath always seemed to do the job for me.
