Why does it feel like my lungs literally itch?

Its so irritating! Its on the left side behind my rib cage and I feel like im gonna cry becuase I'm so freaking uncomfortable from it! Just FYI I have a cough that keeps coming back and this feeling comes along with it each time, been to the dr and they give me an antibiotic that helps for the time being and then this coughs rears its ugly head again and the lung itching starts uuuhhhh! Any thoughts?
Answer:
"Itching" of the lungs could be a number of things, some serious and some not. Could it be that you have asthma and don't know about it?.. Or it could possibly be more serious disease known as pleurisy, (an inflammation or possible scarring of the pleura). The Pleura is the lining of the lung and one of the symptoms is itching which feels like its "in" your back near your lungs, I would ask your doctor for an x-ray if it continues to bother you.
do you have any allergies?
pleurisy

  1. Asthma, like other auto-immune diseases, are symptoms of an imbalance in the constitution. There are many ways that systemic balance can be restored. Begin with eliminating gluten and caesine, found in wheat(as well as some other grains) and dairy respectively. See if that helps in a week's time. While you are doing that, google "acid/alkaline food". Perhaps you would like to look a little deeper into Yin and Yang. Breathe easy, dear.
