Why does chocolate cause you to breakout with acne?

Answer:
Chocolate doesn't cause you to break out, the dirt and oil in your skin is what causes you to break out.
this could mean your allergic to chocolate
or there is too much oil in the chocolate and being contributed to your facial features
i think it's because of the caffeine in it.
it's not the chocolate that causes it it's the oil on your hands from the chocolate when you wipe your face
it's the same way with junk food and greasy stuff it's the oil on your hands getting into your pores
that is just a myth. they say that greasy foods do it too... its just how you take care of your skin. i had bad acne for a long time. its not as bad but you can take birth control pills to help with them or i use a green tea soap that dries out your face and helps them, but you only wash your face at the most 2 times a day.
Actually its not a myth. I stopped eatting ice cream and chocolate for a while and my acne started to clear. I dont know why chocolate cause it though..
It doesn't. Hormones and overactive oil glands cause acne.
Yes, you will get acne when you use more oily food. Some tips to prevent acne are to include green leafy vegetables and fruits in your diet. Drink a lot of water regularly to flush out toxins. Avoid deep fried snacks. More home remedies available at http://www.wellnesstalk.org/acne.html...

  1. There are many things in commercial chocolate that your body just doesn't want but has a hard time getting rid of. Milk solids, emulsifiers, hydrogenated oils, sugar, caffeine, preservatives, coagulants, "natural and artificial flavors," some odd salts-- the list is long. Along with your liver and kidneys, the pores, sweat and sebaceous glands are part of your excretory system. When there is more "gunk" to get rid of than water to wash it out (through sweat and colonic moisture) the pores get clogged. It may also show up as excess mucus (another excretion.) Dilute your gunk by drinking at least 6 glasses of water a day and get plenty of sweaty exercise. Your skin will clear up. Oh, and cut down on the gunk.
